Dropping Like Flies
Not surprising. Jaxx went straight downhill after the Road Ducks drummer sold it in 2011. Before that, it was cheesey but occasionally booked some really good acts. Eric Burdon & The Animals, Helmet, Burning Brides, the Dead Kennedys (albeit without Jello), Fishbone. Not to mention all those '80s metal bands.

yeah….R.I.P. Jaxx/Empire. The place was mostly bad juju, but did get some good tours or stand alone gigs. I saw Death Row reunited in there. Saw Pentagram too. I also saw Mudvayne at the peak of their popularity in there. I was also at that Helmet/Burning Brides show. Melanie even dedicated a song to me because the venue weirded her out and I reassured her that "This is just how Jaxx is"
Jaxx was a definite addition to the area's music scene.. Empire was crumbling so its not a huge loss.. I think Jaxx was a big loss…if Jaxx had been around Ace Frehley might have played there instead of the ridiculous Ramshead Annapolis…that says it all.
without Jaxx the area will simply get bypassed /is getting bypassed for many shows in that genre….they had the connections /longstanding relationships with the bands ….

i enjoy eras, dying.
I liked Slicing up Eyeballs. The guy that runs the page does a classic darkwave DJ set on FirstWave on Sirius XM every Sunday that's pretty cool.

Ex-930 staffer Jim Dailey.
man BB toured til he dropped…
I guess BB was the last from that Memphis group..that included Johnny Ace and Bobby Blue Bland…
For whatever reason his music doesn't really hit me……Live at Cook County Jail is probably the closest thing….

That was my assumption, however, I hadn't logged Ratbastard's partner's name in my files.
