It is interesting that as Patti Smith slept her way to fame she dated one of the guys from BOC… Allen Lanier. I think she even co-wrote a BOC song or two maybe more BEFORE Horses..
Of course she also slept with Tom Verlaine from whom she ripped off her singing approach.. anyone who has listened to Marquee Moon has to hear the similarities… and although one can argue that Marquee Moon came out after Horses- TRUE- but Television was the band that got the whole CBGBs thing started before Patti Smith really got going
anyways none of the people Patti slept with will be remembered but her music surely will be..
