Noticed that the Ramones' use of "The Ecstasy of Gold" as their walk-on music didn't make it into many of the Morricone obits. Then I realized: Morricone outlived all of the original Ramones by six years. (Tommy died in 2014.)

Here's an interesting thought experiment: what if we knew definitively there was a heaven and hell style afterlife system in play and we also knew as a provable fact that someone who dies and is missing a limb either goes to heaven and continues limbless forever or goes to hell and their missing limb is used as part of their torture. (The standard processing on whether one goes to heaven or hell depending on their actions while on Earth are still in effect.) Do you think this would curtail individuals amputating limbs in an effort to extend their earthly life course? Does it change the equation if we know if in the heavenly realm one floats vs walking on clouds? Show your work.

I realize this is being overly harsh as we are flaw'd in some sense… it's pretty well documented that lots of our idols aren’t  the most virtuous i.e bowie shacking up with a 14 year old.
