There's something very odd to me about the article including the detail that the village where this occurred is picturesque. Does that make this situation better, like, "oh, at least she died in a picturesque village"? Or does it make it markedly more tragic like "oh, even in the most picturesque of villages, still the icy hand of death can strike down a singer in their prime"? It's a very bizarre word choice tonally.

My guess about the fascination with celebrity suicides is linked to some supposed satisfaction we'd expect to have in their situations. I'm guessing in a lot of ways satisfaction, like weight and credit goes faster and lasts longer when it's in negative territory (negative, so to speak).   

Hypothetically:
Of course some other loser, nobody slob like "myself" would kill commit suicide. I know the kind of crap useless life I lead and it's amazing I haven't done it yet.

Confession: I'm about to start drinking. Small office, flask at work. It's the little things in life.

I dunno, I mean I always thought the guy who wrote the Linkin Park songs must be kinda depressed.

I feel like there's depressed depressed and then there's artistic depressed, nfortunately they are not mutually exclusive.
I never took much to gin. . . What am I missing? How terrible is diet tonic? Is it all downhill from here?

Gin mixes beautifully with fresh watermelon puree and lemonade with a bit of mint. Just sayin'.
