Most people would say a huge influence on New Orleans music although influence doesn’t do him justice…along with Fess, Fats, Toussaint etc he was New Orleans music at that point in time where Nola music was rock and roll. Dr John does a bunch of his songs on Gumbo. Dr John was also in Huey’s band so was a “Clown”

That first Huey album is like a greatest hits and absolutely essential.

Steven Mackey list of accomplishments extended well past being a part of the classic lineup of Pulp.  He was a well respected producer, songwriter and remixer.
