Dropping Like Flies

really sorry to hear that, Space.
life is brief and no guarantee we'll get all 9 innings
so make sure you make the best out of the chance you get and let the ones you love know it

Lost a friend to cancer complications on Saturday. Blood related cancer, just like Louie Anderson. Except this guy was a clean living workout fiend, by his own account. And 15 years younger than Louie Anderson and probably 150 pounds less. Fuck cancer and fuck genetics.

I've lost three friends, all younger, in the last four years. That might not seem like a lot if I were 85, or had tons of friends. But I'm not, and I don't. Total age between the three….143. I reckon if I live to be 170 or so, I can statistically turn us into an average foursome. I got this!

Sorry Spacedude.
My condolences Space… one thing I've learned over the past 5 or so years is that life is not fair or easy and the only things gauranteed in life are suffering, dying, and taxes*.

*A nun told me this 35+ years ago and it still resonates and probably caused some sort of weird trauma in my life.
Thanks y'all. Random fact: My friend outlived his dad by three days.
Sorry about the news Space.  Hang in there.
sending sympathy Space

FYI,  Some people I know who have loved ones suffering or dying from cancer have been comforted by Ricky Gervais' series After Life
Very sorry to hear that, Space.

Sadly, I, too, have hit the age where I attend far more funerals than weddings. Next week I'll be attending a service for the person that introduced me to my wife.  Absolutely sucks.

I just finished season 3 of After Life and agree it was a very good watch.
sorry to hear about your friends, space.

to date i've only lost one friend to cancer, and i fear the day that starts trending upwards… but it'll happen.  or, you know, the alternative.
I'm just glad I'm not part of the mountain climbing community.

Reading his wiki, I don't ever think I'll watch Peanuts the same way again. RIP Chuck.

That's the impression that I get as well.
