Shit this news is a few months old but just stumbled upon it online. Most people probably have no idea who this guy was, but Matt Odietus, guitar player for the Candy Snatchers dies at 40.
Had not seen him for a few years but was buddies with those guys when I lived in Richmond in the early 90's, and we've crossed paths from time to time over the years here and there. Great band if it's your thing.
Sad news.
RIP Matt

A man after my own true free spirit. He will be missed. :(
Very sad. This man was a hero, whose opinions were unique and refreshing when compared to all the sheep around him.
DAMN how in the living hell did I miss this? I really hope that he does not fade into oblivion in future generations. What an amazing human being this man was.

Don LaFontaine, the voiceover king whose "In a world …" phrase on movie trailers was much copied – and much parodied – has died, according to media reports. He was 68.

Novelist David Foster Wallace found dead by Suicide.
That's a bummer. I tried a couple times to read Infinite Jest and could never get more than a few hundred pages into it. But his short stories were great.

This made me a little sad when i heard it this morning. Cool Hand Luke is one of my fave movies. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid is another great one too.

Thanks for posting this link. I took a class about 12 years ago on this very subject with Kay Redfield Jamison while I was at Johns Hopkins. Very fascinating subject. She had all of these world class experts come in to lecture like Norman Rosenthal, the guy who coined the term 'seasonal affective disorder'. Since then, it has given me a whole new understanding of people. Also, seasonal issues beyond the obvious holiday blues kinds of depression and related stressors.

Lifted from another board:
"According to the Motown Alumni Association newsletter…
Levi Stubbs Former Lead Vocalist of the Four Tops Dead at 70
[The] most profound lead vocalist in American history, [Stubbs] died this morning at his Detroit home sources have confirmed. Stubbs, who suffered a series of strokes and other illnesses, had been sick for a number of years prior to today's news. It was most visible during the televised "50 year anniversary Celebration of the Four Tops" broadcast a few years ago."

Couldn't decipher that lyric, or any other from the song, for that matter.
