So no one has talked about Scott Baio in a few months. That's what I take away from that.

I thought for sure he'd get a cabinet pick
I think the Exim Bank one is still open
seemed pretty obvious stage 4 cancer was the cause, what a dick move
just looking to make headlines
maybe he's just an idiot/asshole - he does sound stupid- but I think it could be more about pandering to the right wing/conservatives/trumpist constituency.. the bigger a prick you are the more they like you and there is a lot of money to be made there… just one book deal can net you a cool million…
Republican voters just love assholes… Trump, Hannity, O'Reilly… Ted Nugent…Curt Schilling… you name it… its like "HE's A TOTAL DICK! FUCK YA!!!!!!!! TELLING IT LIKE IT IS!!!!!!!!"
its frickin' weird..I really can't deal with these people..they are deplorables.

bummer,
but IMO his work had been mediocre for the last 20+ years
After 93 (Philadelphia) he had a really long stretch
only exception is Rachel's getting Married (08)
Swimming to Cambodia is one of my favorites, but like Stop Making sense…Demme's contribution seems secondary to the perfomance
he did produce Adaptation, but not really sure what that really means as I thought that it was a Spike Jonze and Charlie Kaufman movie

well at least you didn't say that if you drink or do drugs you will die…
Rachel Getting Married is such an underrated film.
Silence of the Lambs is one of the rare films to pull off winning the Big 4 Academy Awards (and 5 of the Big 6 if you expand it out – damn you, Cinematography!)

Very sad about Jonathan Demme. If you appreciate how someone can use music to elevate their films even more, he was the master. "Something Wild" turned me onto so many bands when I saw it in the late 80's. I would have had no idea who the Feelies were if it wasn't for that movie and I truly fell in love with them. I hope they'll dedicate some songs to him when they play in Philly this weekend.

Dilfer always seemed a little over-amped up.. like he'd just gone to the gym or something… but I thought he was decent..
