Montgomery County Department of Transportation Asks Residents to Prepare for “Population Boom” of Spotted Lanternflies

this is new, as I was told to squash with extreme prejudice
“The population is well-established at this point,” said Dykes. “Squashing them will not really help. The best way to prevent the population from spreading is to inspect your cars when driving in and out of regions with spotted lanternflies. They like to hitch rides on vehicles.”

focus on eggs  Residents should scrape the egg masses into a sealed bag and then smash them before disposing.

It’s gonna be a real bugaboo when the cicadas rise up!

I find Bailey more attractive on the show…..

I know that's the alternative guy take, but I don't. Not saying Loni drove me wild, but Bailey did nothing for me. Then or now

Well I am not the alternative guy but Bailey is just more my type…been watching season 1. She’s beautiful…you know she was a model….they just hide her a bit behind the clothes and glasses so she doesn’t hit you like a hammer

You might have a chance with her now that she is around 80 years old.

Oh…

Yeah that’s not what I meant
Read an article recently that said the laternfly population will be decimated when local insect-eating birds learn that they're actually delicious. It just takes a while.

Story of my life.

At least we still have Vernon Reid
That single disc compilation of Terry Reid's 60s songs released in the US called Superlungs was a favorite listen of mine for awhile.  Last I recalled hearing anything about him, he had been reduced to playing dive bars, but according to The Wikipedia he had a successful UK touring career in the 2000s
Imagine his life if he said yes to Jimmy Page.

if he had accepted page's invite, we wouldn't have led zeppelin.  would have been something different… maybe better, maybe worse, but given what zep became i'm perfectly OK with him turning down the offer and recommending plant and bonham instead.

now deep purple - that would have been a better fit, IMO - they were a revolving door of singers.
Or Jethro Tull –> SuperAquaLung

Better??? Umm…no
Eddie Palmieri

Absolute legend.

Fortunate to see him for free on national mall one year as part of DC Jazz fest…saw Wayne Shorter that same afternoon

Those were the days for Jazzfest.
Jim Lovell

Weird. I’m about half way through a rewatch of Apollo 13
At least we still have Hannah Lovell: "Touches of Richard Dawson, PJ Harvey, Nirvana" "Each song is its own world""Poetic and feminine voice with punk and metal riffs underneath""Deadpan humour and satire" "Marianne Faithful meets Sylvia Plath meets Baby from Dirty Dancing","The Pixies meets Waitrose"
Bobby Whitlock

R.I.P. Bobby Whitlock, the pianist, guitarist and songwriter who played on three of rock’s most legendary albums — 'Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs,' 'All Things Must Pass' and 'Exile on Main Street' — died at his home in Texas earlier today, August 10, 2025, age 77

just the dial up service
No lie, I have a brother in law that ran his multimillion dollar 'construction' business and still used his AOL account in 2024  (and recently sold , not that he got a real domain)
My mom still uses aol too

this was kinda shocking
163,401 households were using dial-up alone to get online in 2023
Danielle Spencer from What's Happening. She was Dee Thomas on the show. 60 years old; passed away from complications from cancer.
