Dropping Like Flies

They still were musical collaborators. I just hope this doesn't mean Blink is gonna cancel Sunday. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
Echo And The Bunnymen keyboardist Jake Brockman died on Tuesday evening in a motorcycle accident.

Brockman, 53, was traveling on the Isle Of Man in the Irish Sea when he collided with a converted ambulance, according to a World Entertainment News article. He was taken to hospital, but died in an intensive care unit.

"Jake was always a classic bike enthusiast, he loved sailing thought he was invariably seasick," his wife Sally Mundy said in a statement. "Music was central to Jake's life."

Brockman joined Echo And The Bunnymen in 1989 and was to appear on their upcoming new album, The Fountain.

Unfortunately, this isn't the only motorcycle-related tragedy to affect Echo And The Bunnymen. Drummer Pete De Freitas died in a motorcycle accident in 1989.

Bummer.  Somewhere I've got a signed copy of the basketball diaries that he signed at a reading in philly.  The book I got him to sign had been chewed up a little by a dog and he asked me jokingly "did your dog eat this?".  I answered yes and he seemed to think that was pretty funny.
Sad news about Carroll, saw him do a poetry reading at the old dc space where he read his poem about crab races-not the crustaceans-pretty funny….catholic boy's a great record

2 Points that I learned today (and perhaps question a little bit):

(1) That song is not about drugs?
(2) People in developed countries still die of Lupus?

Raised the bar for me.  If I ever have a terminal illness, that's how I'm going out….
My Car

Seriously, I went outside this morning and someone hit-and-run asshole totalled the thing. I have no idea how their car was operational after doing that much damage.
