Maybe but he was definitely after Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Fats Domino and Elvis Presley.

By the time Jerry Lee Lewis broke Sam Phillips and the Sun Studio sound was consolidated, Fats Domino has been having hits since 1949, and Elvis had released his TWO groundbreaking albums on RCA after being bought out from Sun.
