Wilko Johnson 75

Not only is he considered widely influential with his guitar playing and attitude with Dr. Feelgood in the late 70s, tributes are pouring in from UK musicians on Twitter.  Dr. Feelgood is also influential on Blondie..

He was cast in the role of mute executioner Ser Ilyn Payne, in both the first and second season of the HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones

were else would you easily get remembrances  of a legend like Wilko Johnson…

Andy Lewis ex-bass player with Weller shared this

"He joined the Paul Weller band onstage at a gig in Belfast to play From The Floorboards Up. “Do you know it?” asked Paul backstage. “Yeah, it’s one of mine!” grinned Wilko in reply. He played it brilliantly, in every sense of the phrase."

Also that Steve Albini would be playing clarinet instead of guitar were it not for Wilko

"Wilko Johnson started from scratch and invented a new way to play guitar. Manifesting in his rhythm hand the amphetamine intensity of an era, he inspired a generation of twitchy dorks like me. Without him, I probably play clarinet. Requiescat."

and i will fully admit while I knew of Dr. Feelgood and Wilko wasn't really familiar with their output, but I'm rapidly seeing their influences on punk/post punk/new wave.  especially as Billy Bragg said of Lydon, Strummer, and Weller..

Chris Stein says

I frequently remind people how Dr Feelgood was an influence on the early New York and CBGBs music scene. Great guitarist and performer

Dude, following along with live events and "weird and aggressive shirt" twitter is the best reason to have twitter. You're only saying music because like many of the wretched on here, you have a one-track mind instead of a rich, vibrant Julianesque range of interests and inner-life and everything looks like a proverbial nail to a man with proverbial hammers for all four proverbial limbs.
I'm just glad i was never a habitual Twitter user. Let it burn.

I know she lived a long, full life, but this one still makes me incredibly sad. She was my favorite member of Fleetwood Mac. Not just a hell of a songwriter, singer and performer, but also she just seemed to have a kind, quiet, and lovely soul. The story of how she wrote "Songbird" is surreal. I'd argue that's one of the prettiest songs ever written, period. Never fails to make me bawl.
Yeah that’s a bummer…. I also thought of her as my favorite but Stevie is pretty damn cool too…

This pretty much sums up my thoughts.
