Jimmy Buffett

According to twitter, he played 48 shows at merriweather, more than any other artist.

The King of Merriweather is gone. Long live the King.

It’s interesting he holds that record given for decades his area shows seemed to more  at the Bristow Root Canal Pavilion. He must have played Merriweather a ton in the 80s!

I want to hire his manager to write my obituary.

“Steve Harwell was a true American Original. A larger than life character who shot up into the sky like a Roman candle,” Hayes said in a statement to CNN. “Steve should be remembered for his unwavering focus and impassioned determination to reach the heights of pop stardom. And the fact that he achieved this near-impossible goal with very limited musical experience makes his accomplishments all the more remarkable. His only tools were his irrepressible charm and charisma, his fearlessly reckless ambition, and his king-size cajones."
Gary Wright, the musician best known for his hit singles 'Dream Weaver' and 'Love Is Alive,' has died. He was 80.

Roger Whittaker, a renowned figure in the world of Schlager music

got me what schlager music is, but maybe has to do with shots

edit: apparently, this is  Waterloo by Abba
also a funny quote
Schlager is a form of pop so insipid and saccharine that it is possible the Communists built the Berlin Wall to keep it out.
Schlager is basically melodic sentimental pop, often set to well-known classical tunes. Eric Carmen's "All By Myself" and "Never Gonna Fall In Love Again" are perfect examples having been set to Rachmaninoff's second movement of his Piano Concerto No. 2 and third movement of Symphony No. 2 respectively.

There are some schlager-like tunes on The Raspberries albums as well. I figured they wanted to have a few tunes that their parents would enjoy.
