Last night my wife learned that the reason her co-worker wasn't returning her emails was because she died in a fire, either over the weekend or yesterday. How does shit like that happen in 2022?

about 6 years ago in our neighborhood a mother and child died in a house fire, it was pretty horrible,

All deaths are horrible in my book, but yeah fire has to be one of the worst. Unless it's something like you're sleeping and it kills you before you wake.
