Is it possible he was mugged and didn't report it?

It seems most likely it was some sort of head-on-headboard sexual injury. The silent killer.
This is kind of what I had that took me to the hospital on Christmas Day….just much worse…obv

Why wouldn't his wife have called an ambulance?

You were having sex with Bob Saget's wife on Christmas Day? Santa was very generous.

she wasn't with him.  he was on tour, staying alone in a hotel.  when his wife couldn't reach him the next morning (i think he missed his flight), she got security to go check on him and they found him dead in his bed.

I think we've pretty much established as part of my sexual diagnosis that that isn't the case.

Also played Baritone sax on a little ditty called  “Bang A Gong (Get It On)”  perhaps one has heard this one

The song credits list Ian playing a baritone sax but everyone "in the know", knows it was a customized tenor sax.  Ian wasn't happy with the sound sound and didn't quite want the richness of a baritone sax so he had his sax guy, mess around with one of his 4 tenor saxes to come up with modified sax that presented the perfect sound for the song.  Listen to the mix without the sax and it is a dramatically different song.

You forgot to log in to the Hutch account.
I'm legit stunned at how good of a Hutch parody post ^^ is. Like if we had a contest to write a post in the style of Hutch, no one is beating that if they were actively trying.
I'm legit worried about hutch given his fondness for woodwinds in rock music, this should snap him out of if

RIP Ian McDonald. Your playing is all over (arguably) the greatest British rock album, the greatest British jazz album and the greatest British single. Hats off to you, sir.
