That's not how the Post story spun it:

Brennan’s father, Terry, told the Honolulu Star-Advertiser that his son was a patient at a California rehabilitation facility when he was found unconscious a few days ago; he died at a hospital in Newport, Calif.

Brennan’s father told the Star-Advertiser that his son had been in the rehabilitation facility for five months.

“He was doing so well, the spark was back in his eyes, and he was healthy and doing great, and it happened,” Terry Brennan said
