Interesting tidbit, but not surprising Bornstein confessed in an interview that it was actually then-candidate Trump who wrote his hyperbolic doctor’s report in 2015.

“He dictated that whole letter. I didn’t write that letter,” Bornstein told CNN. “I just made it up as I went along.”

Syl’s death bums me out


He never got the credit cause he was overshadowed by Johnny Thunders on guitar and David Johansen… but you wouldn’t have had the Dolls without him.. and because of the Dolls important place who knows what else wouldn’t have followed

It’s well known that Malcolm Mclaren started out in music mismanaging the Dolls on their last legs.. they were his model for the Sex Pistols..

The mind reels at what might not have happened


Of course partly I feel we are spoon fed the official story by the “winners”…see Legs McNeil’s book “Please Kill Me”…

But if it hadn’t happened like the book describes it would of all had been different

Phil Spector was nuts… but man if he isn’t the link between the 50s and 70s music.. he just revolutionized the sound of music but boy if he didn’t burn out quick..mental illness will limit you

Whenever I read music books lately he comes up.. the Leonard Cohen bio has a great description of him…the Ahmet Ertegun bio I am finishing up had an entire chapter devoted to Ahmet’s relationship with Spector

The Philles record label’s Christmas album is the sound of Christmas to me (if you think you don’t know it…well..you do)..always will be… too bad it has Phil’s spoken word message at end.. I can’t bear to listen to it knowing that he killed a woman and what an asshole he was
