^ The Fleshtones are also playing IOTA saturday

Yeah, but I hate Iota.  I'd rather go to Baltimore.
Friday - Holy Fuck @ Le Poisson Rouge
Im debating seeing either Tim Fite at DC9 or Besnard Lakes at BC on Thursday.  Ive seen Fite a couple of years ago as an opener, and really dug him.  And have never seen BL, but dig what I have heard so far…
saturday: imogen @ warner
monday: 30th anniversary shin-dig
Bombay, the fun of Iota is you can hang with the band after the show (and it's a Saturday).  I've done that a bunch of times.  That said, I've got this insane soccer day Saturday, so not sure I can drag myself to Iota after bus to Philly for US/Turkey game, the game, bus back to RFK for DC United game, that game.  I do have Sunday to rest, but I'm not sure I'll make it…  ;)
Friday - Erykah Badu and Janelle Monae at DAR
??? for the rest of the week

I'm playing it REALLY low-key lately!
Last night- Flyleaf
Friday- Coheed & Cambria
Saturday- Reverend Horton Heat
Sunday- Richard Cheese
Saturday - Band of Horses at The Independent
whatttt???
why they playing such a small venue?!

Small?  While 500 people (max) might seem small, they're playing Amoeba at noon that day!  Too bad they're giving wrist bands to those that bought the CD and you know my thoughts on tangible media.

I think they're doing the Independent just to reward Smackie.  The last two times I saw them was at the Fillmore (after smaller venues) so this must be a special treat for the SF fans.  The Independent is quite notorious for doing stuff like this - a Silversun Pickups show comes to mind the week after they played Bill Graham - they give you about a weeks notice.

BoH is playing the Greek over in Berkeley in Sept.
^ 500 really? still small, but I thought it holds far less. The last show I saw there was Erasure (two nights)  :P
Add to your list: Black Eyed Peas, Beck, and Green Day. Silversun Pickups shouldn't be a shock.
Besnard Lakes were A-M-A-Z-I-N-G last night at the Cat…..
will be one of the best this year for sure!

^I don't know about that but they were very good.
I also really enjoyed Besnard Lakes.

Did anyone else find it odd that the show was sold out, but there was tons of space in the room?

Also, I know crowds usually dwindle some during a show, but there were probably 30 people at most still in the room for the encore.

Maybe the opening act has a big local following or something and many people left after them.
Most left after that generic Land of Talk bs.

Last night: Tokyo Police Club - Studio @ Webster Hall (trying out their new songs to a small crowd of maybe 100 of us) with an open bar. sweet sweet deal! New stuff sounds really great live, btw.

Later: Athlete - Bowery Ballroom

Thurs: Hey Champ, Shy Child and others - Studio @ Webster Hall

Sat: Stars @ Le Poisson Rouge
Juficer last night - they're very melodic these days. LOVED it. Unfortunately, there were only 20 people there.

Mono tonight

LCD Soundsystem tomorrow, SF  ::)
Buzzcocks friday, Oakland  :P
passion pit tonight  ;D
