This week rollcall

Yeah, Windhand are great :)  Seeing them next week in Baltimore.
Thing is, I also would love to see Polyphonic Spree tomorrow night. I saw them at the club like 10 years ago and it was so joyful and awesome. Can't do both though. WHICH ONE?

I think it's too bad that they get the tag of being a novelty or a gimmick because last night's show was great, just a cacophony of sound. Violins, trumpets, trombones, harps, piano, guitars, four stunningly gorgeous back-up singers, it was amazing how good it all sounded. I can see where the "UP WITH PEOPLE" vibe can grate after awhile, but I've always been impressed by how much they're an actual band with good songs.
haha yeah, a friend is raving about last night's show this morning.

I still think seeing them once or twice is enough.
Next 12 days
The Spoon Tuesday
The Hold Steady Thursday
The Bob Mould or Wilco/Tom Petty Saturday
The Ryan Adams Monday
The Gaslight Anthem Wednesday
I was also struck by how good-looking that band is. Other than the 'Steely Dan session guitarist" guy, that entire band is just gorgeous. I couldn't get over how smokin the back-up singers were and then realized the two guys playing the horny horns were very handsome and the violin guy looked like the Capt America guy and the harp player was a damn angel and even the Mascis-y guitar player looked like a cutesy Jimmy Page. That touring caravan must be one huge good-looking fuckfest.

Oh and the music was good too.
