This week rollcall

Longwave were way better last night than when they opened for Swervedriver…weren't they at a major label at some point? I recognized some songs from 2003 or 2004.

Have to disagree with Julian. Always thought their music was okay. Not great but not bad. Then I saw them do a couple songs last summer when they opened for Swervedriver at the 9:30 Club and was pleasantly surprised. Much better live than I had expected. Not blown away but very much enjoyed them and wouldn't mind seeing them live again. Maybe he's right about them getting better. Due to attending a party beforehand, I missed their entire set and was very sorry to have missed the early part because I really enjoyed what I did catch.
Longwave was, and they sort of refer to that album as the one they would like to forget. I think their new material, which they played heavily last night, is some of their best. I'm biased, always liked them, but even seeing them on back to back nights they still sounded pretty fresh. Having booked them before, i can tell you they are a nice group of guys too. Shame they don't get as much press as they should…

Deciding between Glasvegas @ Black Cat or Spindrift @ Velvet on Thursday?  Possible to do both?
Most likely, both will be doable.

Unless they switch the band order on you like they did with the Pink Reason show on monday with no notice.
It's also a money issue too, I guess.  And I'm wondering if tiny Velvet Lounge will sell out by the time I get there, having 4(?) openers?

Argh, I only slightly want to see Glasvegas, and am slightly more curious to see Spindrift.
They played there before but I have no idea how many that show drew because I didn't go.
spindrift won't sell out.  they drew 35 on a monday last year.  i'm guessing around 50 will show up on thursday, maybe slightly more.
booka shade is buy 1 get 1 tonight…anyone wanna split the $20 with me? PM me ;)
