Only in the DC area would large portions of the front sections be sitting down most of the time for an Animal Collective show

not full at all. Right side and left side pavilion was empty. I think that is one show that I have seen there with that few amount of people.
my friend could not give away good pavilion seats to this show..
Surely they will be back doing shows at the club around the time of their next album. Maybe a two or three night stand but at the club nonetheless. Still cool of IMP to have them play a show at a venue that obviously meant a lot to them growing up although it was obvious that they never could have filled it. I am kind of wishing I went if only to experience Black Dice in that setting. That there was a once in a lifetime set, I would imagine.
Black Dice kind of reminded me of Health but wihout a drummer ;D
Maybe Eleanor Friedberger tomorrow, although the album is only so-so, so I might bail on it.
Bill Callahan on Wednesday
Bill Callahan on Wednesday

Thurs: Superchunk or Tune-Yards or Patti Smith or Joan Jett or or - love free shows in NYC.

I kinda thought of them as Wolf Eyes channeling early Art of Noise. And sure enough, Black Dice have done several records with WE.
who's all going to soundgarden tonight? I'll be on the floor, looking forward to it ;D
yup, i'll be at patriot center tonight: sec 116, sixth row. i got a ticket last night for below face - woohoo! i didn't want to do GA because i'm not sure when i'm going to make it to the venue. i'd really like to catch MV but work might not allow for that. been listening to badmotorfinger and superunknown recently, haven't done that in years. the albums have lost a little shine but still hold up to multiple listenings. should be a good show tonight, looking forward to it too.
lookin' CA, feelin MN..

Bill Callahan hopefully.
I could watch Matt Cameron all night.. what a drummer..nice to see him with Soundgarden… I might be wrong but I think it brings out a different side..
the Mars Volta confirmed what I already knew: not for me.

Soundgarden was amazing. Played far longer (2.5 hours I think?) than I expected them to. It all started to blend into one giant song by the end, but what a song. Great show. Hope all the new songs/we'll be back banter is for real, because that band sounded fantastic.
