Cult of Luna were stunning. So heavy! The light show was excellent too. I was glad to see Intronaut again as well, I hadn't seen them since 2009. Katatonia was not really my thing and I left after 3 songs. I think I will be at the Wavves show on Saturday but am really there to see King Tuff n' Jacuzzi Boys. Maybe I'll leave early again haha.

I will probably get over there for King Tough and leave early, too after part of Sonic Circuits' thing that day.

And yeah Superchunk killed as someone mentioned earlier.

Anyone else making the trip up to Ottobar to see Junip on 10/9?
Got the ol' "get your tickets now" message earlier today- hoping its a good show.
Never seen before, but did see Jose at Sixth & I way back….cannot wait!

They were pretty good at 930 Club earlier this year. I imagine a smaller venue like the Ottobar would be ideal for them.

There are only 100 tickets for tomorrow's Dan Deacon show at the Crown.  If anyone wants to go, you have to get one from the Crown today, or you will be out of luck. THis is going to be a treat!  New Dan Deacon material! From a future album! Never played live!

Am I reading that right? You can buy an advance ticket, but if you get there after 10pm you either have to pay AGAIN, providing there's room for you to even enter?

Yes, you must be there before 10 PM if you want to use the ticket that cost you $7. I do not think there will be any tickets left after today.  At 10 pm they will start letting people from the outside line into the venue, until they are at capacity.  I plan on getting there around 9:45 PM so I dont need to worry.   I doubt many people in the line get in.

The ticket is also signed on the back, so people cant make duplicates for their friends. I am glad they are doing tickets, it very well could have been ticketless.

I don't get Dan Deacon. 

You dont get his appeal, or his music?

i dont get his glasses.  or his need to have flashing lights.  or his need to be sweaty.

He wears glasses because he cant see.  He uses flashing lights because he is a musician who plays fun music and the lights are a nice compliment to it.  He gets sweaty because he is a bit overweight. 

yeah, that sounds about right.  his music kills, though.

His music…but I appreciate what he's doing.

Did anyone see Boy tonight? They are just incredible. Of course all the songs were played impeccably and lovingly. Even the songs about pwning guys, the guitar work is so good you just can't resist.

I'd say their top five songs are:

Thanks for the heads up about this I was going to go to Fells Point on Sunday but now I will make other plans.  I used to like the Festival when you could drink anywhere you wanted.  Then they came up with the fenced in areas and I stopped going.  Way to ruin an event.
