I guess this Of Montreal Jimmy Kimmel performance is a preview of what we're going to expect next week.
This is SOOOO unwatchable….

Double Dagger kicked all kinds of ass last night. I'd sell those VW/Beach House tickets and go see them in Hampden for free instead if I were you. Sick Weapons and Hume weren't shabby either. Thought I could do Hampdenfest but I sadly have to catch up on work. :(

uhmmm . . . let's see.
1. you're always on here.
2. you go to more shows than the bands themselves.
3. all you seem to do is research every band that is playing or will play the dc area in the next five years.
4. we are in the worst recession since the depression, and it seems all you care about is spending money on concerts. people start to think you don't work and get your money from higher sources.

1. Many people are on here while at work. Hence the downtime on weekends.
2. I have been to three shows in the last month that cost me a grand total of $18.
3. I scour a few news and ticketing sites per day and post what I find. It doesn't really take long at all.
4. My broke ass getting money from higher sources is kind of hysterical.

4. i ran out of ideas towards the end . . . yeah, i know. i thought the "higher sources" was pretty good.
i hope my previous post was not scene as attack. i only posted it as a "what i thought people on here thought about people who go to and post about shows on everyday of the week . . ." i think it and find it interesting/amazing that people can go to that many shows, but i am biased by my location. plus i've always thought you were the post king on the who's playing where, when and why; almost an internet obsession if i may. perhaps i did speak out of turn and people on here do not follow my rambles . . . then yes i admit my wrongfulness upon you. (you like that last part? ;) )

I dunno, some of the shit they were pulling in 08 was pretty great… Coffins full o' shaving cream, hangings, and centaur transformations. There are indications that this tour'll be along the same lines, if not cooler. I reckon that milk-drinking mime shit was just 'cos they didn't have time/resources to do anything real back when they shot that.
Plus the band should be much more musically on-point than they've been, just having kicked out a dead weight of a drummer and added four professionals.
Plus Janelle is not just an opening act… apparently both bands are gonna jam and do covers and what not. And she and her band are the fucking shit, so that'll help.
All in all, it'd be advisable to attend.

If I go, it will be more for Janelle than anything else. As I've said on here before, I have no use for Of Montreal as long as they don't play anything from Gay Parade and Coquelicot.

Broken Social Scene was awesome last night. They always put on a great show. It's like a minature Arcade Fire ;D Not sure if I saw your or not as I only saw two people with curly hair that worked there, one was doing ids at the door and the other a bartender. My bartender was the blonde girl whos like been there since the place opened, is she on the forums? ;D

Haha I don't think so (I know who you're talking about though). And the guy IDing people wasn't me. I was on the balcony last night. They did indeed put on a good show, and the audience was very much into it.
next on the list: ZZ Top on Tues.

I had to leave before Panda Bear, but did catch Deakin. I dug him but definitely was sad to have missed PB… Maybe next time…
This week, probably Justin Jones release party, and maybe Vandelles, SVI, Thrushes, Flying Eyes at the Ottobar.

No Age/Holy F*ck on Friday.
Dark Star Orchestra on Saturday. They're doing a show from the Capital Centre. Should be fun.
