coming from someone who doesn't dance at all, ever, that criticism is null and void.
oh hush, i was teasing
You two need to get a room.
we did, at coachella'07. separates beds, obviously.

didn't work out so well: mr. marshmallow snores. loudly.

can we get back to this week's roll call, instead of all these lame pseudo-insults? any mid-week shows i should be catching in DC?
Ahh that's right; I remember one of you bringing it up on here back then.

I camped. It was the most fun one can have while in a nightmare. :)

Matmos should be worth the thursday night haul to Baltimore.

Sunday - Breeders/The Whip/Matt and Kim at McCarren Pool, followed by the Mobius Band at the Music Hall of Williamsburg
again..do you have a job? how can you possibly make all these and go to work?
If I have wireless reception, I can work. Therefore, I can travel and see all the fucking shows I want.

Anyway, wow, there were definitely some changes I made to what I posted a week ago. I missed St. Vincent and the Brazilian Girls, went to Beth Orton instead of Bon Jovi, and apparently I made the right decision, cause Bon Jovi suuuuuuucked. Also, the Breeders/Whip/Matt and Kim show today at McCarren Pool was one of my favorite shows of the year. Top ten, definitely.

As for shows,

Tuesday - Spoon at Prospect Park
Thursday - Spoon in Providence, at Lupo's
Saturday - George Clinton at 930
Sunday - Yaz at 930

:)

Sweetcell, you would LOVE the Whip. Just saying!
Coldplay on Friday.

im glad you can see all the shows you fucking want…too bad 95% seem to suck.
manimtired, your jealousy and pettiness betray you.
lol..nah…im too lazy to even go to a lot of the shows i want to see in DC. we cant all be drug dealers.
friday - joan jett at artscape
saturday - siren fest afterparty w/ marnie stern, APTBS (not sure yet)
Last night I went to the previously sworn off venue in Bristow for Crue Fest. Premium parking was $30 and a 24 oz Miller Light was $10. I didn't expect to be at a rock show completely sober and at Nissan parked with the masses.

Thursday-Camp Freddy at the Viper Room
Friday-Wolf Parade or Kill Hannah or War Stories or Rooney (recommendations?)
Saturday-the Dan Band Anaheim HOB
Sunday-NERD San Diego HOB

I totally recommend the Wolf Parade show! They're kind of amazing, and the new record is pretty good!
Pitchfork Fest is being streamed almost in its entirety. Do I change my friday plans in order to catch Sebadoh?
I'm tempted to.
Yes, I know how lame that makes me sound.

I'd love to see A Hawk and A Hacksaw.

Was just listening to Darkness at Noon last night; amazing.

you should have gone to bowery to catch back door slam. was one of the best shows ive seen in a long time. leaving the club i overhead some older men talking (crowd was relatively older) saying something like 'i love blues music, and i swear that this kid is the best thing ive ever seen in my entire life' - in reference to davy's vocals and guitars. played covers from CSNY, Robert Cray and the list goes on.

cant make the boris yeltsins tonight. its ok as i caught them a month or so ago at mercury.

a hawk and a hacksaw were good. le poisson rouge is quite the nice, new club. lots of dancing going on as they played and i felt like i was in some eastern european country. lots of dialogue about new mexico. after about 45 minutes tho the music blended together and I found myself a bit bored. It seems on their myspace page they had a bit more vocals in their music (i could be wrong, just what i thought i remembered), which didnt happen live. Regardless, thanks to wordless music series i got into the show for free.

it was fun and entertaining tho. id highly recommend going to le poisson rouge for shows. the sound is great! besides the heart of the village is never a bad place to be.
Thurs - The Oranges Band (probably)
Saturday - Rush
Sunday - Yaz
Tuesday – The Ting Tings (maybe)
