Dylan on Saturday.

Saw him in Charlottesville last night. Very enjoyable show. I already knew exactly what 2010 Dylan does live, and he played a pretty good setlist. So I have no complaints.

Sound was way better than I expected an arena to be.
pissed that i missed bonobo last night.

just bought a ticket for man or astroman.
man or astroman was decent, a fun time, but nothing spectacular.  the BC was about half full and seemed to be lacking critical mass to really get things going.  not much dancing happening which was too bad - a number of their tunes just called out for a good-natured mosh pit (term used loosely here).
Grinderman tonight!!!!
Hopefully Bear in Heaven w/Sun Airway on Friday. Depending how my foot is healing will depend on me making the show.

sadly missing the russian futurists who i really wanted to see.
grinderman…thats it…i hope they start at 930 and no earlier.
Canyon this friday at Black Cat
how were Tame Impala? did anyone go?

Anyone want to be my plus one for a Brendon Benson meet and greet tonite?  Need to meet me at club at 7pm…
^I would so do this if I had a ride home but alas…I do not.

His set at the club last year was very good.

And since it's the middle of the week I'm metroing to the show…,
Like last year, a whole lot of you missed another stellar show.  Featuring the simple things like hooks, harmonies and crunch…  Brendan Benson just delivers the goods and was backed pretty much perfectly by the Posies who amped his easy going songs when called for.
What can you do? We live in a world where it's cooler to prefer the overwrought grunting and groaning of Grinderman over power pop bliss.

I did occur to me that it was a tad unfortunate that the show was scheduled right after Grinderman and being mid-week didn't help.  I'm sure their fanbases are aging and even shows that get over by 11:30 are a stretch…. But, seeing as the inferior side projects of Jack White can pull full houses, this should much fuller…

<edit typing while fuzzy from a lack of sleep results in DIDN'T instead of DID, It did occur to me last night…>
It's too early to be trolling, my friend. Still listening to John Legend?

i wonder if brendon would have sold less tickets if he had been billed as just brendon benson, and not brendon benson of the band that jack white plays in?
Billing his as being part of that other band was insulting enough.

Spelling his name wrong in the billing would have taken the cake.

He was billed without the "(of the Raconteurs)" last year.
