Saw Yuck on Weds - very dissapointing - looooooow energy

Hoping to catch the Muses tonight - need to lay off those boozy high alchohol beers James Ford keeps exhorting us to drink  ;D
^ it looks like it will be high energy if you look at Narcizo's drumming and less of Hersh.

So happy that I decided against the Yuck show. I thought I could hit that then make it to Roedelius in time but Velvet ran like a well oiled machine Wednesday and I might have missed some of Rodelius.
How on earth were there not more people at the Throwing Muses show? That had to be the best thing I've seen all year. That band is so tight it's almost tough to comprehend. The connection between Dave and Kristin is almost spiritual. What a great night.
^ setlist? nothing from The Real Ramona, right? that's why i skipped it

edit: they played "Two Step".
I considered it but opted for that Foreign Resort/Last Remaining Pinnacle thing.

Last Remaining Pinnacle were really cool musically; as Jaguar said, lots of shimmering drony guitars. Some lyrics made me cringe, though. Foreign Resort were pretty impressive for a seemingly new band. They had a shoegazy cure thing happening and pulled it off well.

Nothing from the Real Ramona (no, they didn't play "Two Step"), but they have a TON of other great songs. Kristin Hersh has an old soul. Dave Narcizo's drumming is so tribal/primal and when it combines with her voice, it's a sound unlike anything I've ever heard. That guy pounds his drums like he's fighting them. Throwing Muses was probably the best show I've seen this year. She's the real deal. I've always respected and loved artists like PJ Harvey for the same reason, but I get bummed out when people forget that she's a genius. That place should have been packed.
yup, EPIC show - Narcizo is a beast - I felt mildly embarrassed for them that so few people were there

this is (I think) the 4th time I've seen them for the "last" time - hopefully this ain't the last time i see them

anyone else seeing The Jayhawks this Thursday?
Wild Flag Thursday.  Looking for an extra for my sister.
Really liked the Yuck show last week. Thought the musicianship was great (especially the lead guitar), the crowd very attentive and the sound was actually good…..soooo glad I caught it!
All the cool kids will be at Wild Flag, silly.
