I'm not sure what you're point is in posting that list. But  if anything hopefully it shows that my tastes are diverse enough so that my liking Kurt Vile is actually a possibility. Hoever, I don't at this time.

I can't, and you're all wrong for thinking otherwise.

Actually, I had trouble getting into the entire show.  But I blame being tired and on the cusp of getting sick more than anything else.  Actually had to bail early during Moore's set…I could barely stand.

But I'm with Hutch…that was a whole lot of racket for an all-acoustic band!

I love Kurt Vile and have seen him many times and if Monday was someone's first time seeing him, I can see why they'd leave w/a negative impression. Usually solo acoustic suits him well (best?) but there was something a bit off w/his performance. His set at Red Onion a year ago was far superior. Also didn't help that he didn't play some of his best songs from the new album ("Jesus Fever," "Baby's Arms").
So the new Thurston solo material works well live? I found the recent album mostly boring although I did like his past solo efforts.
Vile wasn't bad.  I enjoyed his set for a while, but it eventually all started to sound the same to me.  It was fine, but I was ready for him to be done about 10 minutes before he finished.  It didn't help that he was sitting down and it was impossible to see him.

Thurston, however, was fantastic.
Did anybody else go to the Nakatani thing? I was shocked with the turnout. Performance was mindblowing. Here it is.
Either Zola Jesus at U St or Flock of Dimes at BC on Thursday and possibly America at Rams Head Annapolis on Saturday.
You can do both Zola and Flock of Dimes. Zola is early show.

True… It all depends on how I feel that night. I might end up hitting Zola after work, and then decide to just go home.
oh sweet dead milkmen . . . how my friend's mouths drop when i tell them i am seeing thee.  i'll be wearing a funny cat shirt.  let's have a beer together!

I hope this is a joke, but the show will be over by 10pm and there will be 100's of cabs right on U Street for you to choose from!
Does anyone know what the box office situation is for U St?  I dont know about paying almost 9 bucks in fees for a 15 dollar ticket.
