This week rollcall

Secret Machines anyone? New album sounds heavy and psychedelic and the warm act TK Webb & The Visions are no slouches in the heavy department either….
oooh, I wish I had $20…they were awesome when I saw them. That was years ago, though, and I haven't followed them. What to do, what to do?
if i was in town, i'd definitely be catching the secret machines… once again: dammit.
THE NOTWIST were stellarrrrrrrr
Anybody else catch Shearwater? How about motherfuckin' Thor, with his circa-1982 Chess King clothes and hairstyle, on drums and other instruments?

Definitely crushed my expectations.
Tonight: Antony and the Johnsons @ Apollo
Friday: Janet Jackson @ IZOD Center
Saturday: The Juan Maclean @ Bowery/Dan Deacon @ Le Poisson Rouge
Sunday: Lykke Li @ Black Cat
Monday: (maybe Nikka Costa @ Webster Hall)
Wednesday: Magnetic Fields @ Loews Theater
You must either be recession proof, or one of the causes of the recession.

12-hour show
yesterday? That's insane! Must be some kind of record.
they did! at the rogan store. rogan is awesome.
but they took breaks and other people played in between…
i'm going to see lyle lovett and john hiatt on sunday at the warner..

i'm more of a lyle lovett than john hiatt but it should be a good time

This completely exceeded my expectations! Janet played for about 2 1/2 hours, 40 songs in the setlist, almost ALL hits. Seriously, everyone in the crowd was going nuts for her, and she gave 110%. Her tickets were half of what Madonna's were, and she played twice as long and was (arguably) the better show.
This week's a busy one:
DMBQ/Pit Er Pat/Awesome Color tuesday
APTBS (and maybe Minus the Bear) wednesday
Lewis Black at College Park thursday
maybe APTBS in Philly friday
(less likely) APTBS/Vivian Girls/Crystal Antlers/Marnie Stern/All the Saints NYC saturday
Magnetic Fields/Shugo Tokumaru sunday

Gonna skip both Lykke Li and Fucked Up today.
Lykke Li, Fucked Up
The New Year/Uglysuit, DMBQ
Broken Social Scene
The Rosebuds (maybe)
Magnetic Fields, then Soulwax at Transit (Philly)
Magnetic Fields - Sunday
Oooh I forgot about that Rosebuds show.

Would probably be able to swing that after Lewis Black.
