Yusuf played a great mix of old and new material.
This week rollcall
It was completely awesome. I was able to talk to him for a minute after the show, and he signed the insert of his new CD for me (the only one he signed today… at first when i asked if it would be ok for him to sign my CD, his publicist said he wasnt signing anything today, but took my address and name and the insert and said that they would mail it to me, but for some reason he signed it anyways, and called me back over to them and he gave it to me, but told me not to tell anyone there because they didnt want to do a signing, I grabbed the signed insert, said thank you, and walked off in shock; when they said Yusuf was asking for me, I almost thought I was in trouble for bugging him. He was so nice and gracious…).
He also shook my hand and touched my arm with his other hand when I first said hello (I of course asked his people if it would be alright to say hello and talk to him, and they said ok, and that was after I saw one other person do the same thing).
I love the new album. I listened to it twice before the set. Also, First Cut is the Deepest and Father and Son were good choices to pick for classics.

^excuse my ramblings… I am still excited about the whole thing.

NPR
well that is pretty cool….
I didn't know he'd even be on NPR
guess my two kids are taking up all my time or something is amiss
even though i have my reservations about some of the things he's said i try to remain open minded… and definitely his songs are timeless…
very cool to get the signed insert….congrats….you gotta post a picture on the setlist/picture thread!

I used to own a copy of Cat Stevens' first LP (The World of Cat Stevens)…unfortunately it got stolen from me in Argentina….such a shame…never managed to get it again although its probably not that uncommon…
His music is really used to amazing effect in that 70s crazy movie about that kid that has an affair with the granny or whatever…
Here Comes My Baby is a great little tune..love the Yo La Tengo cover on Fakebook
that is it for my Cat Stevens thoughts for now…

He taped a Tiny Desk session. It'll probably be up on Youtube soon.
hutch wrote:Maybe. I posted it on instagram. He signed it to my full name because that was what I wrote in his publicist's notebook, and don't really want to post my full name here (though I could be easily found at my real name with info like past screen names of mine), so maybe. Or I edit it and the image and post that.

Midnight/Goatwhore/Samhain tomorrow and This Will Destroy You on Sunday.
Wish I could have made it to Pentagram and Bang last night. I bet that show was great. I might hit Samhain as that will probably be awesome.
I got a ticket for Run The Jewels saturday. It will be swell to see Despot and Ratking too.
