where'd you catch the show from?
it's been mixed for me.

one thing I've learned is on the 2/3 floors, watching from behind the seats gives you a sight line, but the sound sucks

Tend to agree…if you want to watch from side box being in the row immediately behind the seats is best…

I thought Courtney Barnett was pretty great but too loud but that would be her call…
floor about 15 rows back center…..couldn't really hear the guitars…still a great show, her vocals = strong

Well I was in balcony facing stage and guitars were loud

I don’t really know or understand sound…like does number of people in attendance impact sound?

All I try to say is that artist largely determines their own sound at bigger venues…some like to have it loud…personally I hate it when my ears ring the next day

I don’t imagine Anthem will sound better or as good as 930…hopefully people find it better than DAR or Patriot Center

I guess the general rule is sound should be best by soundboard?

damn…that's setting the bar pretty low

but I agree, best sound is by the soundboard…but not always the best sightlines
just not as fun being in the back
Well look I think the sound is pretty good…having seen more shows than anyone…but I think it varies…I have seen shows with great sound and shows not so great…all I say is artists have say…

But at the end of the day it is a small arena or a huge club

Anyone here attend the free national symphony show late last year? I think that show provided an interesting benchmark…also the DJ shows…
the pa system at the anthem is only a little bigger than the one at the 930.

"Look at that PA, is it a small PA? You refer to The Anthem's PA – 'if it's small, something else must be small.' I guarantee you Seth has no problem. I guarantee." - some paid shill who's moments from showing up

this fictional character doesn't exist…but keep the story line going
Is PA size like penis size?
I'm glad I'm on an out-of-town gig this weekend so I don't have do any choosing amongst the many entries this week.  And it's good I won't be spending money each night because, like others here, I'd be at a show each night.      This weekend might not be a record of number of good shows, nor is it Rocktober.  But….quite a fertile collection in next few days.
For me, a very occasional concert-attendee, my experience with sound at Anthem varies. Last night, the sound was not loud enough to drown out the chatterers during EATB. The sax and the weber-grille did not seem well-mic'd during the Femmes. The sound for David Byrne was great; Beck was fine, Hansard was great, Shins were too quiet by a lot. Foos I remember being very pleased with after a song or two.

But overall, the venues that I have left saying the sound sucked are the backroom at Cat, and RNRH, and most openers at most venues, and all venues at which Live Nation manages.

You need to make your points in Trumpian absolutes to qualify for a paid shill position.
Fake news

there was an lot of chatty drunks by me during EATB….but at the same time, i could tell they loved the songs
not sure why this guy felt he had to scream at the girl next to him about his work issues for 2-3 songs

Sound level was good, I actually took my earplugs out as I felt I was missing waay to much during the EATB set

I ended up going to Spirit Adrift. It was only 10 bucks and they are an up and coming band I am quite interested in. This was their first area show and I don't think they have any plans to come back around.

Glassjaw and Quicksand seem to have been touring a lot as of late. Not together sure but they come around here plenty. Did any boardie here go to that one? I would love to hear a review.
