The Black Cat show is Saturday, if that's the one you're referring to.
My Chemical Romance on Tuesday
Guppy Gala at the National Zoo on Friday (volunteering, not attending)
surfer blood / trail of dead tomorrow at R&R … may have an extra ticket, PM me if interested
Echo
Anyone go to Twilight Singers last night?  I was absolutely blown away.  I was a huge Afghan Whigs fan back in the day and have only dabbled in the TS stuff the past ten years.  I didn't know many of the songs last night, but enjoyed the show immensely anyway.  I also got to chat with Greg after the show, which was just icing on the cake.
Ted Leo on Saturday.
Still debating going to the Echo show.
Bombay, Echo is going to be great, but tix are about to sell out. I'd try to make that one happen. You won't regret it.

I also went and agree it was a great show.  Great setlist in terms of picks from older records and the new one.
Excellent Echo & the Bunnymen show last night. I REALLY enjoyed that one. Finally a decent drummer.

Ian's voice was in excellent shape, also. Loved my two favorite albums being played back to back!
"All Thriller,No Filler"…….I first saw Cocodiles performed when they played one of their very first US dates ever for Crocodiles in about 1980 I think…..right here at the Bayou in Georgetown…….we were all a tad bit younger then I suppose………….

The hour they made us wait was obnoxious but once they did go on, it was phenomenal.

so did they play the 2 albums as the main set and then encore w/some greatest hits?
Yeah.
They flew through the albums in under 75 minutes.

I wouldn't have been as annoyed with the delay if it didn't cause me to miss the last couple songs in the first encore and all of the second in order to catch my ride home.
Agreed. I left right before the encores. Too early a day today, and I busted my ass to get there by 9. I would have loved to stay, but as it was I barely got 6 hours of sleep. That's the thing about DC on a week night. A lot of us actually have to schedule shows in. That being said, I was extremely happy with the quality of that performance and it was well worth the effort to go. The sound was huge. It reminded me of live Echo recordings from the early 80's.
Manics tonight in Amsterdam  ;D

According to a tweet from this morning:

Early show w/ @tedleo & Drew O'Doherty on Backstage Sat. has long been sold out. Sets at 8:00 & 9:00, then a free DJ set by Alec Mackaye!
Tonight: amos lee @ the national, unexpectedly… Anyone else, per chance?
