This week rollcall

I bet Robbie Fulks' show is twice as long as the Superchunk show tonight.

Also, Superchunk tonight.  My shows this year have been few and far between, but man, I've been jazzed about all of them (well, except Surfer Blood/POBPAH).

twice a boring, too.

(damn dyslexia…)
Quantity != quality.

Those of us who were at that nearly 3-hour Hole show know this better than anybody else.

I personally don't need more than an hour from 75% of the bands I see nowadays. A band that can hit me over the head and leave me wanting more is much more successful performance-wise than a band that leaves me standing there thinking "finish up already. I wanna go home."

says the guy who goes to 300 or so shows a year

I've seen both (have you?), and in my opinion, neither are boring.

nope, just cruisin' on auto-snark…
ok, so would you like a 30 minute or a 3 hour Spiritualized show?

The length of the shows of theirs I've seen was fine. Three hours would be entirely too long.

just listened to the NPR podcast…..i prefer the encore below, but they still sound great…

lucky you guys got "animated airplanes…" though!

Let It Go

Mower
Digging for Something (w/ horns & surprise JD)

encore:
Like A Fool
Slack
100K Fireflies
Precision Auto
This last Magma album is kind of awesome.
Is Billy Bragg tonight solo or with a band? Looking at the setlists, looks like it's a solo gig…but wasn't sure. I'm thinking this could be a really tremendous show. He's doing some pretty amazing songs.
Happy I pulled the trigger on Magma. Great show although a little long at two hours. Wanted to do today's all-day thing at the Old Town Hall and tomorrow's thing at Strathmore but I'm a little tired after five shows in three nights.

Tuesday: Fennesz
Wednesday: Keith Fullerton Whitman/Expo 70
Thursday: Caribou/Emeralds or the Sonic Circuits show at The Fridge
Friday: Merzbow/Richard Pinhas (!!!!!!!!!!!)
Saturday: V-Fest if I can find a ride up after 3:00 PM. (anyone?)

Wish I could have made it to Superchunk. Got whatever cold/fever thing is going around.
How was Tommy?

Sorta wish I was able to sell my VFest ticket (partial VIP pass), not sure I can make it.
Thinking about James hoping it doesn't sell out before doors.
^If you do go, ow about you go up late (3-4) and pick me up from DC? ;D
If DC isn't convenient for you, I could meet you at the Metro station of your choosing.

Tommy was awesome. He had Jon Wurster sit in on one song (you know, the drummer that looks like Samsfresh) and his very young nephew sit in on another.

I would definitely pick you up az, but you would have to meet me way before 3pm, i want to do pretty much the whole day.  I live about 5 minutes from Greenbelt station, if you  can go early.
Thanks. I'm stuck working until 3. If I could do the whole day, finding a ride up wouldn't be an issue.

Got you.  If you do get a ride and for some reason get stuck there, you can definitely get a ride home with me.
