Goddamn, Diarrhea Planet and opener Wish List were so great. Jeff the Brotherhood have completely changed from a two-piece power pop group to a 4-piece metal band with constant smoke machines and guitar solos

Yes, because I was (still am, but have been busy) planning on writing a few paragraphs about the show and wanted some details fresh in my mind when I sit down to write it.  I used to carry a notebook (pre having an iPhone days) and pen to shows, to take notes for the old show write-up blog that I used to run.  I usually don't take them anymore; no motivation to write.

You haven't ever seen someone take notes at a show?  I notice people doing it all the time, and assume they are writers/bloggers.

(my write-up is coming after work tonight)
