jesus eclipse, you're going to be at Ani DiCranko aren't you. I've never been so disappointed with someone I haven't met, seen or spoken to. The internet is broken.

Ringo Deathstarr are also playing a house in arlington on the 13th, FYI.

Even harder for me to get to. 2 hours one way!

If you hear of them playing any Baltimore shows, please let me know.
Last night's Grizzly Bear show was MINDBLOWING.

This week:

Tonight: (I saw Via Audio at Bell House)
Tuesday: Lucinda Williams @ 930
Wednesday:  (maybe) Lucinda Williams @ 930
Friday: Handsome Furs / Iran @ Mercury Lounge
Saturday: Ani DiFranco @ 930
We're gonna lose our indie cred together!
My whole take on it is…people who focus on their indie cred are posers, and I'm such an anti-poser, that I am open about my appreciation/anticipation for seeing Ani, which in turn makes me cool again! Take THAT, Pitchfork!

But by posting that, I lose 25 cool points or something. Whatever, I can't keep up with the equations.
Exactly! I think.  ???

Can i ask a question that everyone else might already know the answer to? Where do you actually live, and how are you able to pretty regularly go to NYC and DC shows mid-week and on back to back days? Do you have a job? Considering the volume of shows, I'm assuming you must…

Not a problem at all. I have a place in both DC and NYC, but as of late, I've been leaning more towards being more in Brooklyn. I work, albeit freelance, I do work. In terms of how I get to and from DC, I generally use Megabus, Boltbus, or the dreaded chinatown bus (it's super frequent!). I know people who also go to mid-week shows in other cities and STILL go to work the next day, it's not as uncommon as you might think.

:)
Those three are in dire need of a late night bus back to DC. I'm at my wit's end with Greyhound yet they're the only option for this. :(
Chinatown bus has a 1:30am or a 3:00am bus from 88 Broadway.

Megabus sometimes has an 11:59pm bus from Penn Station, which I guess is good if you're going to a show at Nokia Theater, Roseland, Beacon Theater, Town Hall, or any of those midtown venues with a 7pm doors and a 8pm start time.
Was that recently added? I remember looking everywhere for a late night Chinatown bus last september and couldn't find a thing.
Re: Chinatown buses

I honestly don't think it's listed on their websites online, but they ALWAYS have buses constantly running from Allen St. I don't know how the tourists and foreigners know about those late night buses, but they do.
I just looked at the megabus website and they do have a trip at 11:59 pm from Penn Station to H Street/10th. And it's $5. What time do you think the PJ Harvey show be over? ;)
PJ should be over by 11/11:30, which is ample time to get to Penn Station! (one stop on the Q train)

BUT, Prodigy is that night! Do the Prodigy show after PJ!
Prodigy is at Roseland….ehhh…

To your knowledge, do they ever stop in Baltimore? There is no way on earth I'm travelling to and from Washington to get to NYC.
Yeah they do! Always!

Chinatown buses stop at the taxi stand/parking lot outside of Baltimore Travel Plaza going into and out of DC.

Megabus stops at White Marsh Mall, and Boltbus doesn't stop at all, I don't think.

There's another option called MVP Bus that actually stops in downtown Baltimore that has wifi and tables, near North/Charles St., which goes directly to NY for $18, I think. It might be $20 now. Still a hell of a lot cheaper than Amtrak, and way more accommodating than Greyhound.
