i'm jealous of this. i hope she has more tours so i'll get a chance to see her
This completely exceeded my expectations! Janet played for about 2 1/2 hours, 40 songs in the setlist, almost ALL hits. Seriously, everyone in the crowd was going nuts for her, and she gave 110%. Her tickets were half of what Madonna's were, and she played twice as long and was (arguably) the better show.
Really? I hated the DC show. Let me guess she picked you to go up onstage to get disciplined? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sq2w9I31zSI

This was her first show back and maybe she was still feeling under the weather. Her dancing was emotionless kind of like an aerobics routine. Her hair and costumes were whoreific.
Broken Social Scene tomorrow!
Just The Rosebuds on Thursday…. Do you think it will sell out or can I safely wait to purchase my ticket at the door?
did they have trumpet/horn players with them?

Yes! Go see this show. Holy moses. They said they'd never played Virginia before so they were going to "make up for it" and they played between 2:45-3:00.

(not in order)
4 Brendan Canning Songs (including Hit The Wall)
Farewll To The Pressure Kids
Fucked Up Kid
2 Songs From the Other Guy's solo work (including this saxophone/Jamaican woman thing)
KC Accidental
Stars And Sons (closer of encore)
Almost Crimes
Looks Just Like The Sun
Pacific Theme
Anthems
Cause = Time
Shampoo Suicide
Our Faces Split The Coast In Half
Ibi Dreams
7/4 Shoreline
Major Label Debut (main set closer)
Superconnected
Fire Eye'd Boy
It's All Gonna Break

This was the best BSS show I've seen of 3.
Thanks. Hopefully they will top the Chicago Metro show from this past August. Who did the female vocals? The girl from Land of Talk? Are they selling tour posters?

The last 9:30 club show was 2.5 hours long! (not the bss presents kevin drew, but the one prior with lisa lobsinger doing female vocals) :D
yeah that bss show was crazy. they played forever but holy hell the concrete floor at toad's killed my legs. this show was much better than 'presents kevin drew' last year at 9:30.

edit- yeah the land of talk girl did the female vocals. she was ok for a stand in…and land of talk was pretty good.

Yes, the girl from Land Of Talk did the female vocals. She was OK, but messed up Anthems. They had a general tour poster for the entire tour and a specific one for Richmond.

Yeah I was expecting from setlists I'd seen that it'd be 50% Brendan Canning and Kevin Drew solo material, but that was NOT the case. I wasn't expecting 8 tracks off YFIIP.
Ummmmmm….so did anyone see that dude on stage with the Rosebuds singing "What Can I Do?" :)
I knew it, that was you…you're a bear and you're wearing that Social D shirt…haha

Great show. New songs sounded good. Never seen them with a bass player…and he's a cute one, too :)
LOL…that was so bizarre. I apologize in advance and hope I didn't ruin the song. I couldn't believe they played it, just goes to show be careful what you ask for at a concert, you might get asked to sing it!
Lewis Black was done by 9:40.

Totally could've done the Rosebuds show if I had a ride down there from College Park. :(

Ahh well.
you did fine, the person next to me, however, was so off key during "Nice Fox"…I was covering my right ear.
Rosebuds hit the stage at 10:15 :(

Ahh well.
I saw the Oranges Band once.

Wasn't feeling it.

They were the first band on a bill at the black cat earlier this year; forgot who they were opening for.

Was it the Ruby Suns maybe?
Or maybe it was Polvo?
I dunno.
The Oranges Band were REALLY good last night, I bought a couple of their CDs and listened through one of them already. Bags, I can't wait to see your friend's photos! It was a great time.
It figures - the one time I miss The Rosebuds…

Photos, please.
