Seeing the Bangles for first time, really enjoying their new album as well….

I haven't seen Susanna in over 10 years.  I bet she's still gorgeous…

Saw her I want to say last year but maybe year before that at the State Theatre.

She is.
Debating seeing The Bangles.  Depends on how the rest of my day goes tomorrow.  The last time I saw them The Hoodoo Gurus opened.  That didn't suck.
Jens show was the weakest in DC yet. Something was off. Black Cab was great but everything else was just ehh. I want to blame the space and listless crowd but I dunno exactly what it was.
Shame on the crowd for not dancing at a Jens Lekman show!

Why not blame his only having released an ep worth of second rate material in five years time?

Not sure, but why I didn't go was b/c I p wondered if I'd prefer him in a GA space.
Anyone going to Lemonheads? Or pretty much everyone going to Trans Am?
The synagogue is GA.

His music works better in a club though.
pardon - I mean standing. Yet, many artists can make it work at a seated venue, so again, not sure but it's the vibe I had when I saw the show and my past experience was at a club standing GA.
Definitely in for the Lemonheads. I've never been blown away by them in concert, but I haven't seen them in like 15 years so it's time to give them a shot. I love the IASAR record.
YUCK wednesday BC
Rainbow Bridge festival tonight and tomorrow.
bearman - how were Lemonheads?
Actually, I thought better than when I saw them in the 90's. Loud, crunchy, but well-rehearsed. But as usual, typical chatty Friday night Black Cat crowd. Kind of annoying.

Looking forward to Throwing Muses on Friday.

Also, going to check out Deathfix (Rich Morel and Brendan Canty's new band) on Saturday. They're opening for Trouble Funk at Wilson High.
Double Dagger tonite!
Throwing Muses Friday
Mates of State tonight.
Roedelius last night was exponentially better than I expected. The Cluster set from three years ago made me think he would get up there and hit a few keys/click a few mouse buttons on a laptop and call it a day. He did the opposite. Played a mix of dark psychedelic ambient pieces as well as some beautiful piano compositions that had everybody in a trancelike daze. He also seemed to be having a great time; chatting up anyone who wanted to talk to him and signing records before and after his set.

Hey, shoegaze aficionados (all two of you), will this be worth my time? http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=221251604605406
Now that sounds like an incredible musical experience. Wish I could have been there.

Not sure about the one band but definitely go to see Last Remaining Pinnacle, especially if you have a love of saturated drone. That's Dave Allison's band who owns Custom Made Music. (Ceremony, Screen Vinyl Image, Black Nite Crash, etc.) I think I might have one of their songs as a free download on my Air Atlantic Underground website. Can't remember though. I know it's always airing on Air Atlantic Underground Radio. I'm losing it. Ha ha. The song is called "Students Of The VU" which I love. Chock full of drone.
Nice. Thanks. I like drone.
on sabbatical
Loretta Lynn / SCOTS tomorrow!
