This week rollcall

did they ever! that was KILLER! great show…
i saw sleater kinney in what i think was their first dc show circa 97 at the old black cat and i think i could make an argument this was better.. man
only thing wrong with it may have been the 1 hr set time but for $13 i'll take it..
it was great to see carrie and janet again.. and mary timony really added to things..
once their album comes out i could see them playing the 930….
I think we can all agree that it ruled. I was always a fan of her before, but prior to last night I thought Mary Timony might be the part that dragged this down a bit. She's great and all, but I was really hoping for a rocking show, and sometimes her newer stuff was a little subdued. Man, was I ever wrong.
Definitely glad I went in without hearing the songs first…it really rocked. And I think the one hour set time worked to their advantage…without having an album out, it's hard to really captivate people for that long, I think. Personally, I think Glass Tambourine was one of their weaker songs…at least until that KILLER end jam kicked in. Super glad I pulled my sorry ass out of the house for it.

I was going to see Loretta Lynn, but it looks like that show's been postponed until October. I guess I'll go see Furthur on Thursday instead.
