It's a decent space, but the stage is really low.
I am debating between a few for this week. Thursday's show at Club K looks like a lot of fun. I really enjoyed the Popnoise Fest show there.

Sunday - Wovenhand at DC9 (I cant remember the last show I saw there, its been a few years).

I think I will be at that Wovenhand gig as well. Been meaning to check them out for ages.
I haven't been to DC9 since before that sketchy incident where that dude died. The Bats will be my first show back. Yes it will take a band coming all the way from New Zealand to play their first show in DC in God knows how long (somebody told me 1993 with Radiohead and Belly a couple weeks back?) to get me back there.
Trying to convince the husband to go to the Roomrunner show on Thursday night.

Just be forewarned if you have never been, it is probably the closest thing to a "house show" at a "legit venue". Ill just leave it at that. I like shows/spaces like that, but not everyone does (no sound guy (sound is still good though), no stage (band plays at same level as crowd), and no backstage area (so if you want you can easily hang with the bands)).

I would pick Kinski from that list just because it is such a rare opportunity. Would go too if I didn't have at least a couple very good options down here.
If you change your mind I do not mind picking you up for it.
Tough conflict to have Kinski and ICP Orchestra playing around the corner from each other on the same night!
the pissed jeans/white lung show was incredible last week. pissed jeans in strong contention for most ridiculous set i've witnessed this year.
METZ for sure this week. and may head to NYC for a friends show.

dylan in richmond tomorrow
Kinski played a solid set. The show was under attended, there were maybe 15 people there.
Tonight I will be at the Rock and Roll Hotel for Appleseed Cast with Muscle Worship, People in Cars, and Tone.
Friday I might go to the Soft House show (Dope Body, Rap Dragons, Moss of Aura and Breeeeze).

I would've been at Kinski if I wasn't around the corner at the ICP Orchestra (which was great! and decently attended).
Pissed Jeans will just never completely sell me, I guess.
They were fine but I have seen countless other better noise rock bands to which I cannot help but compare them. White Lung on the other hand killed. What a fucking monstrous set.
Eternal Summers Tuesday
Back Alley Theatre show Thursday
Colleen Green/Thee Lolitas/Teen Liver Friday
Sonic Circuits thing Saturday

Az, if I do not go to the Soft House show on Friday, I might go to the show at Judy's (big maybe).
How is Judy's; you went there for the Jowe Head show right?

Metz on Thursday. I was promised they'd have vinyl - they better.

I liked it. They basically just serve food and leave the bands to their own devices. Great sounding space too. Sound for Jowe Head was exponentially better there. Sam who played in the first Popfest band/used to run sound at Velvet did sound at the Judy's show.

great musically, but besides Mish i thought the band was going to fall asleep on stage.
Why is Mish not a massive fucking rock star yet?
Also show would've worked better on the backstage.
Attendance was piss-poor.
