i'm considering Pantha du Prince on wednesday, and Fort Knox Five + All Good Funk Alliance on saturday (maybe add PB&J as an appetizer)
Anyone else go to British Sea Power? A solid show after a rocky start. I am not sure that the violinist and keyboards add a lot to the mix.
Hope everyone got their prom and wedding dresses sorted
I'm hoping to go see the jon spencer blues explosion up in baltimore if i can get a ride..
I'm looking forward to Beats Antique on Thursday. Zoe Jakes is an amazing tribal belly dancer.

Surprised I didn't notice you there g-dub. I thought it was an outstanding show and agree with your verdict on the added instrumentation. For a band thats 10 years in, playing to a 2/3rds empty room they gave it their all

didn't make it to pantha.
no one noticed that i got PB&J and FN5 wrong - they're next weekend, not this weekend.
RUSH
The Gum Yummy thing last night probably permanently damaged my hearing.

If I do anything this weekend it will be the Annex 4w show on Saturday with Secret Mountains, Woodsman, Omoo Omoo, and Tjutjuna.
PB&J were pretty damn excellent tonight. thoroughly enjoyed that.
Kylie was tons of fun tonight
Anyone have a spare ticket to the Yuck/Tamp Impala show on Friday?
Sort of wishing I went to that. How was Bachelorette?
I went to Rapoon at Pyramid Atlantic. Had its moments but it got a little new agey at times. Parts of sounded like a dronier shpongle.
This week:
Maybe the Shpongle thing Tuesday although I don't know how much of a Simon DJ set I could take before boredom sets in.
(Reviews I have read make it sound as though "a head full of L" is required in order for me to enjoy myself at this; no thanks. Have fun working this one, staffers! ;D)
Dark Sea Dream/Ghost Box Orchestra/Phonic Riot Friday.
Pas/Stylus/Tag Cloud Saturday.
Star Licker Trio Sunday if it gets moved to another venue.

unfortunately we were unable to get there in time for bachelorette. i was looking forward to her set, so missing it put me in a bit of a funk as i entered the club. luckily PB&J quickly cheered me up :) i last saw them in at lolla 2007 (with my mom!) and they have definitely improved as a live band.

i've heard simon spin a shpongle set, about 18 month ago. it's dancey-er than what you might expect a shpongle set to be. i enjoyed it, although the hallucinogen that followed was even better.
there will always be boneheads who claim that drugs are needed to enjoy certain music. their loss.
