Bummed to miss this one, but did catch them a few times already this year. Ottobar gig was a blast a few weeks back, but that's part for the course.

Do you hate your family as much as mine hates me?

Thursday: Hudson Valley Brewing, some other Hudson Valley breweries
Friday: Suarez and Fidens, seeing an old college friend and his new wife
Saturday: Tree House Saratoga, then the Outlaw Festival with Willie, Dylan, Wilco, Lucinda, and Waylon Payne
Sunday: Hiking Mt Jo near Lake Placid, snapping a picture of Lana del Rey's childhood home for my daughter
Monday: Hiking either Mt. Marcy or Indian Head loop
Tuesday: Stopping for the afternoon/night in Philly. Would do Wilco if it wasn't triple digit prices, or Phillies vs. O's. But will probably just go to breweries and eat.

Speaking of Lana, Emile Haynie bought a record from my discogs shop…nearly fell over….and yes am sure it’s the Emile Haynie. He bought a Brazilian lp for $9.99…I threw in a couple of freebies for services rendered to music

All joking aside, I thought this is who he was talking about for a few seconds.

Alice Smith came on the scene about the time NeoSoul was taking off, she is known for her five octave voice and while primarily considered a soul singer she does venture into rock, r&b, jazz territory. My guess is she is road testing new material which is why the smaller venues and limited east coast shows. Of late she has been showing up on mainly soundtracks, she's on one the key songs towards the end of Sinners for example. As a sidenote she is married to Citizen Cope and has ties to the DC area where she grew up.
