The timing of this was bad for me but I would have LOVED to have seen this.

How is the beer?
O.M.D. then Black Moth Super Rainbow…
Screw that. You should be seeing Matmos/Sudden Infant after.
Grow a pair and go to The Bank.
may be able to swing, i think sudden infant are headlining.
The beer is pretty good. Kind of a chocolatey stout. Only comes in 22oz bottles (at least there). Was $20 bucks which was insane. I think it is cheaper at other bars.

They played 5 acoustic songs (which for Clutch means one acoustic guitar, everyone else was plugged in but the song versions were slower and accentuating their blues quality). Then they all plugged in and unleashed for about 40 minutes more. Working extended jam versions of each song. Sick, sick drum solo at one point. The crowd were going nuts the entire time that they were electric.

Really cool to get their pure rock fury in such a tiny room!
Some good shows coming up:
Peter Hook tomorrow
Riotfest on Saturday (Descendents, Dead Milkmen, X, Naked Raygun, etc.)
Shellac next week
Yeah that Clutch beer party was awesome. The new song was bad ass. What was it called? Did they even say what it was called?
Not that it was in much doubt, but…

Yes, Guided By Voices at the Hopscotch festival.  Not sure if you know this or not but this was their final show forever.  Now we all know how that goes but that's what it was billed as.  So it was a big deal.

I've got some videos uploaded if you want to check them out.  Swans was awesome as was Richard Bishop  ;D

I don't buy it!

I think they're going to record an album and tour it.

If it was their final show forever I can live with that too as their 930 show was great and I've seen them a bunch going back to 95…I'll look for your videos!
Can't do the Mates of State three band lineup as a late show.  Will sell tix for under face value.

The album is a go, but there are not plans to tour.  Though I'm with you, nkotb.  If the offers are for enough cashola, I'll bet they'll play.

GBV touring will depend a bit on the album … is it good? the reception will matter.. if people/critics say its just one more pollard album i don't know a tour will happen..
but if critics and old fans get into it i imagine a tour is inevitable.

it could be great..assuming sprout can contribute 3 or so winners, demos' bass jams like it used to etc.. the combination of these five guys put out some of my favorite music and personally i felt it was never the same afterwards
Ok never mind maybe Hopscotch wasn't these fuckers "last" show ever  ;D
Tonight: Olivia Tremor Control @ Le Poisson Rouge
Sat: Ivy/Tahiti 80 @ Gramercy Theatre
