Question: Does The Amps show sometime like ten years ago at the 930 count as a Breeders show?

did the amps play 9:30? pretty sure it was black cat. there was a breeders show at 930 sometime in 1997, i think the openers were jonathan fire*eater, brendan benson and lutefisk. but that was a while ago, i could be wrong.

No I do not believe there was a Breeders show at the 930 in 1997. ..that was probably the Amps show I was referring to…

I say this because I was a huge Breeders fan at the time and I dont' recall them playing.. I thought it was Kim and Kelley with the Amps

Again I could be wrong.. my mom threw away my ticket stubs when i left them with her so I cannot be sure………

the amps played at the black cat on december 18, 2005. the breeders played at the 930 club march 22, 1997.

Anyone go to to the Budos Band show tonight?

I would've gone to the Budos Band show on Thurs. 8/13 if I hadn't had a gig of my own that night.

Did you go?  If so, how was it?
We haven't talked about how much the OLP show sucked yet. So much of the older material was played so sloppily, it was offensive.
And on top of that, Raine decided to take much of the night off; staying quiet for as much as half a song at a time while he had the audience sing the lyrics. Joe, you suck just as much for going to Dungen/Woods.

it's your fault for going to these crappy shows. It's like forgetting to use condoms the night before then regretting it the next day…

And back to the subject of future shows, I think I'll go to Chuck Brown.

I thought it was the same setlist every night?

Where did you find the setlist? I'm going by the one on WIKI for the Pandemonium Tour.

awesome.
sweetcell - what did you think of the show? all i know is - ive never heard so many people talk in the front throughout an entire show that i spent way too much money on. more embarrassing - half the front didnt even know the words to 'west end girls'. was a total FAIL on the sing along.

week's roll-call/recap:

tuesday: the roots @ the highline ballroom
amazing, amazing show.  people really need to check this one out if they're in NYC on a tuesday or wednesday night.  it starts late, so you could conceivably do another show.  this week they had henry butler join in for the first half of the show - kick-ass electric blues.  the band's horn section is ridiculous.  i've been to this show three times now, and every time i leave with a huge smile on my face.  and it's only $10!  GET ON THIS, PEOPLE.

wednesday: pet shop boys @ hammerstein
great show, although i slightly preferred the last tour.  PSB still bring the broadway fabu factor to their stage show: dancers, numerous costume changes, and a very creative set that is constantly changing and being used in creative ways.  this show was a little shorter than the previous one, 90 mins vs. 110-120'ish.  folks looking for some entetainment tonight could do worse than this show.  a noticed a few cheap tix on CL…

saturday: !!! @ BC, maybe.
Is anyone going to the David Bazan house show tonight?

there was quite of bit of chatter but i'm slowly starting to accept that as part of the modern-day concert experience, unfortunately.  where i was - dead center of the floor - the talking was mostly washed out by the music.  the main PA was LOUD, more so than i would have expected as a PSB show.  weird that so may people up front were talking - you'd think that the hardcore fans would be against the rail and enthralled with the show.  predictably there were a lot of gay club-boys in attendance and for many this was more of a party & a celebration more than a show that one concentrates on.  chatter was to be expected, really.

yes, it was an expensive ticket but someone/something has to pay to schlep around all the equipment.
Is he still considered Christian rock ?
