This week rollcall

This week i am going to the basement speakeasy SVI show or the Thrushes set at ottobar on Saturday.

Why are both of these on the same night in different states?
I'm checking out All (Descendants minus Milo) this week playing with Big Drill Car at the HOB in The OC.
Dead Weather yesterday
Superchunk - Friday
Siren Music Festival - Saturday  (Built to Spill, Raveonettes, Future of the Left, Thee Oh Sees, and Micachu)

Tortoise - Sunday

Considered Ween but Rams Head = yuck.
i am listening to sirius xmu, and the dj guy thing just said, and i quote . . . "st.vincent will be touring around the country, finishing up in d.c. at the legendary nine-thirty club."  :)
Just found out Future of the Left are playing DC9 on Sunday night so I'll be there
No Tortoise for you??  ;D

I've been avoiding Future of the Left because I didn't want to be bummed out with a second-rate McLusky.  Sounds like I shouldn't have worried?

I'm still very much torn between Tortoise and FotL.

I bought a Tortoise ticket but selling it outside shouldn't be an issue if I so decide on FotL.
NO shouting out for Lightsabre Cocksucking Blues, ok!! (That way we might actually hear it)  ;D

"People don't generally request mclusky songs anymore, and when they do it 100% guarantees that we won't play any mclusky songs. That's the rule."

so what did people think? I thought it was a good show

They seemed a little irritated at the typical DC, stand there impassively crowd

Was there but totally missed you apparently. I loved it, way better than i expected. Nice to see a band with some personality. Instead of the "We're selling merch" or obligatory Obama comments. The first band was pretty bad however…
