This week rollcall

The Junior Boys did their thing tonight at the Black Cat. Max Tundra was even more erratic and energetic than he was at SXSW, and I like the furry little guy!

Junior Boys setlist for all interested parties:

Hazel
The Equalizer
Double Shadow
Work
Parallel Lines
Bits and Pieces
Count Souveniers
The Animator
Birthday
In the Morning

Under the Sun

Short and sweet set!

I'm opting out of checking their Philly show to see the Harlem Shakes / Heavenly States at Piano's in NY today.

they were quite pleasant.  i was surprised that there were so many guys in attendance!  short write-up in case you haven't seen it.
That was a good show. The sound at the BC seems to bother me more and more every time I go there, though.
Sharon Jones and her merry band of soulsters torn the house down last night!

perhaps the guy guarding the entrance for going back stage, who reads books at shows to seem cool, can look into that for ya.
Indeed they did!

Either Dan Deacon or Moon Pie sunday
GREAT Damned show last night. Ian Mackaye and Brian Baker looked on as I kissed Captain Sensible's hand. He dedicated "Eloise" to me too. Sad thing is they said it'll probably be the last time they come to DC, which is a downer. The BellRays were phenomenal too. What a great night.
One of the best so far this year!  I loved all the people who danced with her, esp. the tall guy who looked like Napoleon Dynamite and the dimpled guy acting all innocent (not the guy with the shaved head). Great times!

thermals were pretty good. 'cept i got stuck standing behind this super-tall dude. i always think the guitar could be louder when they play, but i guess that's their choice to keep it kinda low. the new songs are not quite as good as the old ones, but they still play plenty of old ones. good 1993 covers, too.
mc chris at dc9 on Sunday and Prodigy on Monday.
dan deacon…worth it or not?
i know nothing about his music, but i'm off on sunday.
Monday: Springsteen
Tuesday: Edie Sedgwick/Olivia and the Mates @ Black Cat Backstage
