This week rollcall

really cant wait to read the review on this show. Was bummed (for all of 2 secs) I couldnt make their show in NYC, but no way in hell was I missing the Dandys for them :D

I found them disappointing in June, but I was definitely in the minority. Curious to hear what you have to say.

It was pretty full actually. People dropped out through the course of the show though, either leaving or sitting down in boredom.
I see the Future Islands show is sold out tonight.  If anybody needs a ticket, I have an extra.
I forgot the Black Mountain/Angels show was this Sunday. Very much on top of that shit.
Im thinking of seeing The Dandy Warhols Sunday night in Philly at the Electric Factory. Im sure some of you have been there - so how is the venue? A good place to see shows? and how is the neighborhood?

TIA.  Hoping to also throw in B'more.
the EF is really, really big - think a huge warehouse with a stage at one end.  i'm not a big fan of the place, but it's not horrible either.  sounds has been good all 3 times i've been there.  the dandys won't come close to filling the place so shouldn't be too bad.  sold-out shows are a real pain there.

neighborhood is industrial/warehouse/scene gang fight in a movie (not that i've ever seen gangs there, it's always deserted).  on a show night you'll be fine parking nearby and walking to the venue, but it's not somewhere you'd hang otherwise.  chinatown is close by, hang there instead and drive over to the venue when ready to enter.
Def:
Jonsi x2
Suicidal Tendencies

Prob:
Man Or Astroman

Also, I started a new, weekly, concert recommendation column on AOL City's Best today. Give it a look.

I thought people were willing to give up their first born to see that La Roux show at one point months ago.
Yeah, should be an easy sell.

Double postponement and then making it a work-night late-show kinda sux. My wife can't go to a show that late mid-week. I don't want to go to this one without her.
I have never seen Man or Astroman and a bunch of my friends are going.  Worth being tired on Friday for?
Man or Astroman? are awesome live. Definitely.
Tonight: Boy & Bear/City Riots @ Mercury Lounge

Fun Fun Fun fest was so awesome…

here's a video of one of the members of GWAR attacking the singer of Municipal Waste and the crowd:
