Chuck Brown's b-day party sounds like fun.

Uh, Iggy and the Stooges in Atlantic City.  It's not sold out, and if you're a bachelor for the weekend you have no excuse (other than possibly needing to leave work early on Friday) to not go.

yeah HOB sucks  ;D
anyone going to Rock the Bells?
So did anyone else catch the Stooges show last night in AC?  Say what you will about the HOB, sound was great, 2 for 1 priced tickets even better plus great sightlines (not to mention they kicked ass as expected and played every song from 'Raw Power' by the time it was said and done), glad I made the drive.

We loved the show.  The floor was uncrowded anywhere  behind the very front of to soundboard, so it was easy to have a very confotable uncrowded spot with great view and great sound.  I really liked hearing all the Raw Powe stuff, and was suruprised when they also threw in several tracks from Funhouse and the first record.

Atlantic city on the other hand is serious hell.  I feel I had mental images burned into my brain that night that will never go away.

Anytime you can show up 15 minutes before they start and only be 2-3 heads back from the stage is a good omen.

You took a walk on the boardwalk too eh? HAHA

Rangda, Major Stars and Kohoutek Saturday.
Rangda may just possibly be the only "Supergroup" that lives up to its potential on record.
Rock the Bells was fun except the heat was intense. Very crowded too.

Even better, anyone stay for Lauryn Hill?  Her  200 minutes late better or worse than Courtney showing up on time?

http://blog.washingtonpost.com/clicktrack/2010/08/in_concert_rock_the_bells_f_sn.html

Her being late notwithstanding, I actually liked her supposed "speedy delivery and clunky, overstuffed arrangements."  Have seen artists losing their voice just go through the motions – this was not the case with Lauryn Hill last night.  This was enough to win me over.
I might end my mini show drought and do the Future Islands/DJ Dan Deacon show in baltimore this weekend.
Edit: Whats a better venue, Floristree in Baltimore, or the Cherch in dc?  Ive never been to either…
Has anybody ever been to Floristree?  Thoughts?  I might go tonight and dont know what to expect from it.
