Myself, Vas, and Azaghal will all be at 2640 for NMH. I am not sure who else was able to grab tickets for it.

Azaghal likes Neutral Milk Hotel? Wow we have a band in common.
In case anyone else is going to Justin Timberlake/Jay-Z tonight. Looks like the new NFL no bag policy will be in effect. no umbrellas and everything must be/fit into a clear ziploc bag.
i love going to different venues and seeing what kind of security they have going in. i would hope for the best of the best, and i dont mind mind waiting an extra few minutes for bag searches and pat downs . . . but sometimes i see places where people just stream on in only to have their ticket checked.
90 percent of the shows I go to do not have pat downs or security checks.
Sadly, the club was fairly sparsely populated last night, but I thought both Beth Orton and Dawn Landes were terrific. Very satisfying night of music.

Yeah there were many people at Beth Orton at Newport Folk Festival. My wife were able to walk right to the front row of the tent and sit there right before the show started. I guess she isn't very popular here but my wife likes her.
The last time I saw Beth Orton was in ~2002, and the 9:30 Club was sold out or very nearly so. I just think her brand of folk/folktronica isn't very "hip" right now, so she's out of favor. I thought the show last night was good…. but I was surprised that she did 6th & I back when her album came out, and then a significantly larger venue 8+ months later, when all the press had died down.
Anyone know how tix to Killer Mike/El-P are moving? Now that Mr. Motherfuckin Exquire has been added to the bill, this is looking like a can't-miss show and I have a feeling that once I've put the kids to bed and start wondering "well now what do I do on this fine Saturday evening" I'll be asking the wife for her blessing to go see this.
^ weird that Despot is not on the bill…

His name was on the tour poster on facebook. He is a flaky guy for sure. Hmmm, has he been at any of the other dates? I still hope he comes out for a song or 2.
@despotroast: About to get on a plane to NY to see my friend get married. 2 day break from this bus. DC and Chapel Hill, I'll make it up to you.
You sound hella paranoid.
I don't remember the last show I went to where there was a pat down.

I think the last pat-down show I went to was… Killer Mike, El-P and Mr. Motherfuckin Exquire at the Hotel.
weird

I understand the pat downs at jamband shows but the hip-hop and metal show pat downs never made sense to me.
they're also looking for weapons, not just weed.
And I have heard pray tell that a portion of hip-hop and metal fans enjoy the occasional experimentation with marijuana.
I guess it depends on the venue?
I'm sure they're more scared of a stabbing at a rap/metal show than at a Justin Timberlake show.
That El-P show at RNR was attended by 80% white folks. I'm sure the decision to pat down has nothing to do with the audience ::)

think there was a pat down at the last Prodigy show at 930…?
Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake was just fantastic. Beautifully visual stage, great backing band, and non-stop music. Just amazing…
