This is the feel good story the MSM isn't ready to tell us: we will work together to get this done in 2020.

Also, updated Rollcall…

Friday, The Hold Steady with opener "Lilith," which appears to be a new indie-pop band out of Boston.
Saturday, Live from Here in NYC, Saturday: Chris Thile, Pixies, Black Pumas.
Saturday later, The Hold Steady with opener Ezra Furman

When is DC getting a Hold Steady residency?

From what I have heard,* the band would be happy to do such, but these residencies are initiated by a club, or a promoter, and no one who books or promotes shows from DC or Baltimore areas has put together an offer.

*from a quick conversation with Craig.

I have thought about this, and I think it should be in Baltimore, and should be the following sequence of shows.

Wednesday: Living Room show at Club603 where Craig has played solo and with his other project
Thursday: Ottobar show
Friday: Ottobar show
Saturday: Big outdoor show at Union Brewing or Guiness (who can pay enough to underwrite the whole weekend)
Did they burn bridges in DC? Have a show with embarrassingly low attendance?

Not at all. DC shows for THS and for Craig solo are always well attended I think.

I believe that they are looking for package deals that guaranty the band a good payday, for a 3 or 4 night run, and have their fans treated well in a single city, so that once in town, no need to rent cars or otherwise travel from city to city…. Just hang out and explore the city, etc.  They are not booking tours, these are residencies. When I talked to Craig, he mentioned that multiple nights at 930 would work well. I just like game-planning my Baltimore idea…
I would be all about a Hold Steady residency at 9:30 (or another DC or Baltimore venue because I am venue-agnostic).

The shows in NY were great. Hopefully, this or next summer there will be shows in our neck of the woods.
