This week rollcall

How was that Blonde Redhead show? I really wanted to go but missed out on tix.
Red Baraat Thursday 930

Femi Kuti Friday 930
The Blonde Redhead show was great. More of a rock show than expected. Not many tracks from their boring last effort. I am not as familiar with their catalog but they played some really old tracks according to Joe.
they did "bipolar" which was a huge surprise…they haven't played that in over 10 years.

I'll probably be at Graveyard on Saturday. I saw them last year at the Golden West and they tore the roof off that joint.

Not sure where else i'll end up this week.
Tomorrow - Lumineers and Y La Bamba at DAR.  I just listened to Y La Bamba and they actually quite good so I will have to get there early.
Walk the Moon at 930 last night

Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino at Artisphere tomorrow

Kermit Ruffins at Howard Theatre this coming Thursday
How was Ty?
Thoroughly enjoyed Ty. A well-paced set.
Ty was GREAT. Oh man, I just loved it. Loved him, loved the band, loved the drummer, loved the set, close to perfect. That's why I go to shows, to see shit like that.

I thought Ex-Cult were terrible. So monotonous and one-note, and the singer's no-tune bark just did nothing for me.

Roomrunner was like a shoegazey Nirvana. Not bad, kind of the epitome of an 'opening act set'.

Sad I missed it.  Will definitely catch him next time.  LOVE his music.  Will stay away from Ex-Cult!
Disagree about Ex-Cult. They were fine. Singer was indeed the weak link tho.
DJing the Corey Smith show
This Saturday I will be attending the postponed performance by the Evens at 2640.
