This week rollcall

O's game Friday night.
Bob Mould Saturday night.
Wife not happy.
see ya at the park tonight, big game james
My track record of reunion shows has been pretty good. The only one that immediately comes to mind as being offensively bad is Bad Brains and that was just because of HR.

Sunn 0))) last night were good but we really did not need 90 minutes of that. They should have wrapped it up with the Attila section. Pretty sure all of us in the room had gotten the point by about then. His presence was a nice surprise.
The feeling as they ended was like nothing I had experienced prior. Felt as though I was floating for a good minute after.
I still say My Bloody Valentine wins as far as intense live experiences go, however.
I've seen some bad reunion shows.. blind melon comes to mind!
How could you have expected more than bad from that?

you don't like the melon?
They are OK. But Shannon was such an integral part of the band.
you haven't seen Tim Hecker :)

I'm pretty sure I went because I got in for free … but I really can't remember why I went.. I don't even like Blind Melon all that much… Anyways, it wasn't all that good is what I'm saying

I love reunion shows generally..Not sure why people have such problems with them……
Ahh fair enough.
I don't have a problem with reunion shows, I just haven't seen a lot of good ones. Urge Overkill were a good example of a big disappointment. With albums of can't-miss hits like Saturation and Supersonic Storybook, they opened with two mid-tempo songs that the crowd (and I) weren't familiar with before breaking out Positively Bleednig, which made the crowd go nuts. Then it was another group of new, mid-tempo songs and the energy in the room just died.

First time I saw X's reunion shows (with the Fags opening), they were so good. High energy, sounded great, excellent show. But then a year later (with Rollins Band opening, who were great), they were terrible, with Exene phoning it in so hard it was pathetic.

But then Scratch Acid came and obliterated my expectations. Goddamn that was a good show.

well she does have Multiple Sclerosis which is not for the faint of heart…
Did not know that, though like I said, she was great a year or so beforehand.

My sister has it and it can just eat your muscles away.. its horrible. And when you're going through a bad spell it can be awful while when you're feeling OK it can be fine… I'm not sure how much her MS has progressed..
I was going to post similar wrt the live experience. I remember reading on here a few years ago about how seeing MVB was so great b/c of the "brain massage", volume, intensity. I'm not a a fan of MVB, I actually think the blow, but always assumed seeing Sunn O))) would be a similar  sonic experience and it was…and it was awesome.

What time did it end? At 11 I grabbed that limited edition vinyl and headed home.

Right before the end of the show, something unexplainable happened to my IPhone. I had gotten a call that I obviously could not answer but I think the vibration caused the phone to unlock directly after voicemail picked up the call and a call was placed to a set of random numbers. 6855

In order for this to have happened, the keypad would have to have been activated, numbers dialed and "call" button tapped. Could the vibrations have done all that?
that's a long show for that type of music
Unlikely but who knows. I'd say if you were standing close to the front it's possible your phone vibrated against something in your pocket (keys, wallet) which could have unlocked it, more likely with the incoming call activating the screen. It was pretty heavy up there.

There was nothing else in there but earbuds and I am almost certain they were behind the phone. I was fairly close up.

Also, a friend that was toward the back by the bar told me that a bottle exploded.
That is just absurd.

Didn't explode.  Vibrations caused it to shake and fall off the shelf and shatter.
